Welcome to the Luishof, a lovingly restored Tyrolean farmhouse in the mountain village of Obernberg am Brenner.
At 1,410 m above sea level, a spacious holiday apartment full of traditional Tyrolean charm awaits you. It features a cosy Tyrolean Zirben (Swiss stone pine) parlour with an original farmhouse stove and a private, fully fenced garden.
Hiking trails begin right outside the door, and Obernberg Lake and the Bergeralm ski area are just a few minutes away. Whether a summer or winter holiday, whether family, friends or guests with a dog – at the Luishof you'll find a genuine piece of Tyrol.
The Apartment
130 m² for up to 8 people. 2 bedrooms (double bed + bunk bed, and double bed + 2 single beds), 2 bathrooms with WC.
The parlour is heated by the original Tyrolean farmhouse stove, the rest of the apartment by underfloor heating. Firewood included. Fibre-optic Wi-Fi throughout the house and garden.
Private, fully fenced garden with seating and sun loungers, parking for 2 cars.

Winter
In winter, Obernberg becomes a paradise for those seeking peace as well as active guests. From Obernberg Lake, a fully floodlit toboggan run leads down into the valley – making the ride a treat even in the evening. Obernberg is also a true snowshoeing paradise: beautiful routes lead through the snowy winter landscape, away from the crowds. We provide suitable snowshoes free of charge in the house – so you can head out spontaneously anytime.
Summer
In summer, Obernberg is a wonderful hiking area with trails for every level, right outside the door. Mountain bikers will get their money's worth too: the region offers numerous varied MTB routes – from leisurely tours to challenging climbs.

From the Luishof to Obernberg Lake
The Obernberg mountain stream flows just a short distance from the Luishof. Simply follow it up the valley – the path along the stream leads you gently all the way up to Obernberg Lake. A beautiful, wildly romantic walk through nature, accompanied by the sound of the rushing water.
On arrival at the lake, one of the most beautiful spots in Tyrol awaits you: crystal-clear, emerald-green water framed by larch forests and the Tribulaun peaks, with the little chapel of Maria am See on its peninsula.
Hike to Lichtsee (Lake Lichtsee)
Right from the Luishof you set off on one of the most beautiful hikes in the valley: the ascent to Lichtsee, an idyllic high-mountain lake at 2,101 m below the Trunajoch.
The well-marked path climbs steadily through sparse larch forests and across open alpine meadows.
After around two hours' walking you reach the lake, nestled peacefully amid wide mountain meadows. At the top, a magnificent panorama awaits you, with views of the Tribulaun peaks, the Obernberg valley and the Stubai and Zillertal Alps.
Good to know:
- Walking time: approx. 2 hrs up, 3–3.5 hrs total
- Elevation gain: approx. 716 metres
- Difficulty: moderate (red mountain trail), technically undemanding
- Best time: May to November
- Especially beautiful in autumn, when the larches turn golden
Sturdy footwear and a degree of sure-footedness are recommended.
